Hawick & The War - A Pictorial Record was first published by the "Hawick News" in loose magazine editions during the course of the Great War.
At the end of the conflict a bound edition was produced.
I have been searching for a copy for several years as the title is very scarce.

"Hawick and The War 1914 -1918: A Pictorial Record"

From 1915 to the end of 1919, the "Hawick News" produced a series of magazine type publications which featured many of the portraits and pictures which had previously featured in their weekly newspaper. Their object was to preserve, in a handy form, a history of the town and district through the war years: "so that future generations of Hawick folk to realise the experiences of their forefathers, and the happenings in their native town, in relation to the greatest war of history".

To bring this amazing history to the attention of a new generation of readers, I've had the book version of "Hawick and the War" from 1920 reprinted to coincide with the centenary of the start of the Great War.
Contains photographs and biographies of over 500 Hawick men who fought and fell in the Great War.
