Looks like they've done a good job, and nice to see the railings removed too. That's a big improvement.

It's a shame the've tied a bit of wire round it for poppy wreaths though, a bit of forward planning could have seen something more suitable put in permanently at the same time the other work was done.

That's a good point Derek. If Historic Scotland were invovled in its repair I would have thought they would have insisted on the original memorial and fittings being re-instated including the railings. Perhaps the railings weren't original after all?
