Not listed on UKNIWM.
Although this memorial is inside Holywood church, I have listed it as a civic memorial because there is no other memorial that covers the area and no mention of church or parishioners on the memorial.
I have also posted a photo of the church, although you can see that it is not the most photogenic subject! And all I can say about the condition of the memorial is that the church has a very enthusiastic cleaner
Holywood church is at OS Map Ref: NX 955 796

Unfortunately although the memorial quotes "who gave their lives" I found no reference to Helen Young on either CWGC or SNWM.
Anybody have any further details of Helen?

The church is still for sale and the memorial is still inside the church. It is the intention that the memorial will be moved before the church is sold and relocated in Dumfries North West Church (Lochside) which is now the church for the area. I have asked to be kept informed.

I've just noticed that the transcription of Jock Martin Watson's name on this memorial has missed his surname. _________________ Ken |

Ken, Many thanks for details re Lucas.
See both Holywood and Terregles put down places where men stayed on the WM's, very helpful for the research.
Jock Martin Watson is on a lovely stained glass window in Terrgeles Church, along with some other men - think 5 others, it is a beautiful window.
Regards,
Teddy |
