This large brass memorial plaque is located at the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, but is not currently on display. My thanks to the staff for allowing me to take these photographs.

The location of this church is unknown, but checking a couple of names on CWGC leads me to believe it may have come from the Maryhill area of Glasgow.

The cross with crown is quite unusual and puts me in mind of the Templars for some reason. I don't suppose it could have come from the church that was demolished to make way for the runway at Glasgow airport? I think it was All Hallows.

I'm fairly sure that this has a connection to Maryhill, partly due to checking some of the names, and also because it may have some connection to the barracks?

There's a photograph on Virtual Mitchell

http://www.mitchelllibrary.org/virtualmitchell/index.php?a=wordsearch&s=item&key=Wczo4OiJiYXJyYWNrcyI7&pg=1

which seems to show a church within the barracks. It looks a bit substantial for a barracks/ base place of worship. Might it have been there before and the barracks built around it?

There's also a film in the Scottish Screen Archive at

http://ssa.nls.uk/film.cfm?fid=8594

which mentions the barracks church "News footage of the construction of flats on the new Wyndford Estate in Glasgow on the site of Maryhill Barracks, including shots of the barracks church and preserved masonry from the barracks site." and "in background - c/u shots of grave stone with inscription 'In Memory of "Monkey" Who Died 19th Oct. 1898 - Erected by Capt. Wemyss, The Royal Scots' - c/u shots of stone blocks with inscriptions 'Lynedoch', 'Abercrombie', 'Crawford', 'Ramsay' [possibly barrack block names?] - gv of buildings - shots of Maryhill Barracks church (1.44)"

That does look like a church on the Virtual Mitchell Library. Can't see the original photos on this thread though.
