Spott War Memorial
Location: Spott parish churchyard
OS Ref: NT 673 755

Spott is off the beaten track. It's only a mile or so from the A1 but you have to go onto small roads to get here. It's even harder to find if you come at it from inland rather than the A1.

The simple memorial is not weathering well and some of the names will soon be illegible.

As you can see from the images above the words inscribed at the base will soon have a hollow ring.

Wreaths were laid at the foot of the monument from Miss Watt, Captain Anderson, Mrs Bayley, Spott school children, and the Girl Guides.
