Yes.

(Glasgow herald 21st August 1914)
"The news of the death of Major Hughes Onslow of Alton Albany, Ayrshire, which reached Girvan yesterday morning, created widespread regret in the district of Carrick. Although he had been very little about the Barr district for a good many years, he was very popular in the place where he spent his boyhood. He was the eldest son of the late Mr Hughes Onslow of Alton Albany and brother of Major Denzil Hughes Onslow of Balkissock, Ballantrae. Major Hughes Onslow was about 52 years of age, and it is reported that one of his sons is also serving with the colours."
