Location, in Challoch (Episcopal) church at OS Map Ref NX 385 675
Two additions on separate plaques:
died 1923 from gas poisoning 1917
and
died 1918 from gas poisoning 1927

The memorial has HERBERT SCOTT, Gunner, Tank Corps.
Killed in action in France June 13th 1917.
The Stewartry Roll of Honour has: Gunner Samuel H. Scott. Enlisted January 1917 in RFA transferred to 12th Bn Tank Corps. Killed near Mory.
CWGC has Samuel Herbert Scott, Private (112815) 12th Bn Tank Corps Died 2 September 1918, Buried in Mory Abbey Military Cemetery.
SNWM has the same plus "Formerly 217052 RFA"
The family grave in Penninghame Old Churchyard also has 2 September 1918.
