This is my local war memorial and I originally researched the names back in 2007/2008 ( and discovered the SWMP )
With the new sources now available (eg Soldiers effects) and with one of the local newspapers (Dumfries and Galloway Standard) now having the War years (both WW1 & 2) on line at the British Newspaper Archive, I've revisited my research and found several wives, many pre-war occupations and the grandfather of a former Attorney General (Dominic Grieve)
An additional advantage is that I now know what I'm looking for (and where to find it - sometimes )
And there is still one guy that I cannot find _________________ Ken |
