The Roman Catholic memorial at Crieff takes the form of a "comodious hall";

1924

1914 - 1919

Mark
Keeping my eye out for "stray" Borderers
Nicholas Bradley (11632) 2nd KOSB is an early death - 14/9/1914
and listed on a Memorial I'd never heard of before
La Ferte-sous-Jouarre, Siene-et-Marne.

(Although all 3 Bradleys were born in Crieff (SNWM) they don't seem to be brothers)

Ken

La Ferte-sous-Jouarre memorial is a bit further South than the other memorials and commemorates those lost in the early battles of the war and have no known grave.

It sits next to a bridge over the Marne

Google Maps Street View

From CWGC

The La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial commemorates nearly 4,000 officers and men of the British Expeditionary Force who died in August, September and the early part of October 1914 and who have no known grave. The monument consists of a rectangular block of stone, 62 feet by 30 feet and 24 feet high, with the names of the dead engraved on stone panels on all sides of the monument. The monument is surmounted by a sarcophagus and a trophy carved in stone. At the four corners of the pavement are stone piers with urns, carved with the coats of arms of the Empire. The memorial was designed by G.H. Goldsmith and unveiled by Sir William Pulteney on 4 November 1928.

STRATHEARN HERALD: 31.10.1914
DEATH OF GALLANT CRIEFF SOLDIER

The relatives of Private Nicholas Bradley, of the King's Own Scottish Borderers, have just received from the War Office intimation of the death of this native from Crieff, who, it was stated, "place and date unknown". Accompanying the letter was the following: "The King commands me to assure you of the true sympathy of His Majesty and the Queen in your sorrow". Private Bradley, who was in his 19th year, enlisted in the King's Own Scottish Borderers at the end of August, 1913. He was an orphan and brought up by an aunt.

Nothing to indicate relationship in any of the casualty reports but three Roman Catholic Bradley families from Crieff - must be related.

I'm sure you've already commented on this but I can't remember where.
Where did the details on the CWGC "Additional Information" come from?
The service record or from relatives post-war or....?

Ken
It came from the NOK and this is why often no details are given by IWGC ( later CWGC) since the NOK did not supply any when requested. The detail appearing in the Register was entirely their choice.
