Wigtownshire Free Press (31/8/1917): Mrs J Agnew, Lochryan Street, Stranraer, has received official intimation that her brother, Private William Logie, ASC, died on 19th August at 43rd Stationary Hospital, Egypt. Shortly after the outbreak of hostilities, Private Logie joined the Army Service Corps, and was attached to the Headquarters Staff as a motor driver, in which capacity he rendered yeoman service. Private Logie, who was for over seventeen years in the employment of Dr Monro, Lewis Street, was of a quiet, unassuming disposition, and his death is deeply regretted by the doctor and by a large circle of friends in Stranraer and district. [The report also carries a photograph of Pte Logie]
