Kilmarnock Standard 29 July 1916
"DREGHORN SOLDIER KILLED
Information has been received that Private Robert Brown Stewart, Gordon Highlanders, who belonged to Irvine, but lodged at Greenwood Rows and was employed at Montgomeryfield Brickwork previous to enlistment, had been killed in action somewhere in France. He was 22 years of age."

Private Thomas Arnott Millar was my great uncle !
I have been very fortunate and was able to get a photograph of his gravestone in Gaza !

Hi Mary this is the wrong Robert Stewart.
This casualty took some research to find and verify. Ive posted the details below.

This was later exhumed and reburied at Shell Green Cemetery Plot2 Row L Grave 9, 3/4 mile south of ANZAC Cove in the presence of a chaplain.
Emarked from Sydney, Australiaon H. M. A. T. "Euipides" 20th October 1914
His Gallipoli ANZAC medalion for Veterans was forwarded to his sister Elizabeth Mackie, 107 turbine street, Katoomba, NSW. She aplied for it in writting witnessed in 1969.
