Tollcross YMCA, 1161 Tollcross Road, Glasgow G32 8HB

OS Grid Ref: NS 642632

Tollcross YMCA was founded in 1870 very much based on a strong Christian background. From the outset the association held a Sunday morning fellowship meeting where a guest speaker would address the members. Tollcross is now in its 139th session and still hold a weekly fellowship meeting every Sunday morning from October through to May. During the months of June, July, August and September a service is held on the first Sunday of every month.
The association’s current premises were built in 1934, with a games hall extension added in 1975. The board of management at the time of building the association had great forethought to build shops into the premises, which provide an income for the association to this day. The association is run by volunteers.
