Hi
Could I suggest the following as a possibility for Cyril Crozier. He was part of my research for Dublin Street Baptist Church in Edinburgh and has a Haddington connection too.
Regards
LIT
Crozier, James Cyril Baptist:2nd Lieutenant, 2nd Royal Munster Fusiliers. Born during Oct 1890 at Bowden, Cheshire. A son of Rev Henry Wilcocks Crozier and Susannah Mary Crozier. James was educated at Eastman’s Royal Naval Academy, Portsmouth, Loretto School [1906-1909] and Edinburgh University [Student of Medicine], later residing at Long Yester, Gifford, Haddington. He had served as a Cadet at EU Officer Training Corps, Artillery during Jan 1911 to July 1912. In 1912 he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Royal Scots, joining the regular army in June 1914, serving in “B” Company in the 2nd Royal Munster Fusiliers, entering France as a theatre of war on 13/08/1914. He was listed as missing presumed killed in action near Etreux on 27/08/1914, aged 23, and is buried in Etreux British Cemetery, Aisne, France, Grave II. 2. He was awarded the 1914 Star with Clasp, British War Medal & Victory Medal and was mentioned in the University of Edinburgh Roll of Honour 1914-1919, De Ruvigny’s Roll of Honour 1914-1918, the Loretto Roll of Honour 1914-1920, the Bond of Sacrifice Volume 1, a casualty list and biographical note in The Scotsman, 05/09/1914 & 23/10/1914, and the Edinburgh Evening Dispatch, 11/12/1914. |
