Library and Archives Canada to Digitize 640,000 First World War Service Files - http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/news/Pages/2014/digitize-first-world-war-files.aspx

another bit of info is the
Circumstances of Death Registers, First World War
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/microform-digitization/006003-130-0010-e.html?PHPSESSID=33drt08ml1nt0mt7i27b1ijc66

The volumes contain details of how men were killed.

It's a shame the last few volumes of the circumstances of death volumes are missing. A great resource nonetheless considering how many Scots served in the CEF.

Thanks

Adam

It looks as though the final service records have now been "digitised".

For example: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/first-world-war/personnel-records/Pages/item.aspx?IdNumber=331210

Well done the Library and Archives of Canada!

Thanks for the info Ken.

Pity other countries don't follow their example though.
