I couldn't find him on CWGC or SNWM at first but after a bit of a root about on the internet I found him on a website about his burial place.
Going through that route into CWGC found him. His first name starts with a D not a C!
MIERS, DOUGLAS NATHANIEL CARELTON CAPEL
Rank: Captain
Regiment/Service: Cameron Highlanders
Unit Text: 1st Bn.
Date of Death: 25/09/1914
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: 1.
Cemetery: BOURG-ET-COMIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY
There is a photograph of his headstone here:
http://www.ww1cemeteries.com/ww1cemeteries/ww1cemeteries_ext/bourg_et_comin_cc.htm
It is the one on the left in the first photograph. He lies next to the son of a General and the son of the Chief of Clan Cameron. The fourth man is an Edinburgh doctor. No doubt the war diary of the battalion would record the circumstances of the deaths of these officers.
Another search gives this page:
http://janus.lib.cam.ac.uk/db/node.xsp?id=EAD%2FGBR%2F0014%2FMIER
Which I would say confirms that the man on the memorial roll is Miers VC's father
Anthony Cecil Capel Miers was born in Birchwood, Inverness, 11 November 1906, the son of D. N. C. C. Miers and Margaret Annie Christie
