WMR 76803
This is a brass plaque on a pedimented wooden backboard, with a shelf below.
It reads THIS ROLL OF HONOUR IS ERECTED BY/THE CONGREGATION TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF/THE MEN FROM THIS CHURCH WHO/VENTURED THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919/[46 names in 4 columns]
Unfortunately the names are not legible from the photograph
This memorial is said to be formerly of the E U Congregational Church- it is unclear, to me, where that church was.
Thanks to Gordon Pitkethly for recording this in 2006. The digitised hard copy photograph will be added to the WMR report in due course |
