In Clyne Parish Church there is a stained glass window described in the Aberdeen Press and Journal of 15 February 1922 as
The design of the window shows a knight standing at the foot of the Cross, on which can be seen the crown of thorns hanging upon a nail placed where the head of our Saviour had been. At, the base are the inscriptions, supported by the Sutherland badge.
The inscription is-
In thankfulness to God for the memory of one who gave his life for King and country in the Great War — 1914-19. / G. A. Sutherland. M.C., captain, Seaforth. Highlanders, 51st Division. / This window given by and a sister and brother — 1921. |

ST. IMOGES CHURCHYARD, Marne, France.
London Gazette 13/9/1918 p.11022
Capt. George Angus Sutherland, Seaf. Highrs.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. After a personal reconnaissance this officer led his company into position to reinforce the line when the enemy was attacking in great force, covered by a heavy barrage.
Despite overwhelming numbers, he maintained his position, inflicting many casualties on the enemy. On subsequent days, though exhausted from want of sleep and fatigue, he continued rallying his men and holding on.
