Also named on the Polwarth Parish War Memorial in Berwickshire as:

J.R.D. McEWEN
James Robert Dundas McEwen – age 20 – Lieutenant 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
James was educated at Eton and was commissioned from there in August 1914. He went to France in February 1915 and was promoted in April.
Born 1896 in Edinburgh. Son of Robert Finnie McEwen and Mary Frances (Dundas) McEwen of Marchmont House, Polwarth and of Bardrochat, Colmonell, Ayrshire.
Missing in Action on 12 October 1916 and named on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France.
