North Leith Ferry Road United Free Church War memorial
Location: In storage, North Leith parish Church.
Thaks to Andrew Grant for passing on this photograph of the memorial and ADP and Ken Morrison for identifying the church it had come from.
The former North Leith Ferry Road United Free Church became Leith St Nicholas' in 1929 and was sold in 1985 when the congregation merged with the nearby North Leith Parish Church.
St Nicholas' was demolished to make way for flats. It occupied the site opposite the BP garage currently on Ferry Road.
Is that paint on the bottom of the memorial or are the names missing. It looks like a marble tablet but is it wood made to look like marble?
It is a shame this memorial (and others) are in storage in NLPC
Thanks
