A bit sketchy but when I went I wsn't looking for WM info in detail.
The Imp War Museum site has more detail than I have, I think.
If I haven't mentioned an island, it's because I have no info.
Out Skerries: WM is in the churchyard.
Whalsay is by the island church. I counted 23 names WW1 and 22 for WW2.
Foula WM is isolated but easily visible. I wrote down the 5 names on it, all for WW1: Ptes J W Henny, G R H Robertson, C S Robertson, Lding Seamen J Henry and R C Henry.
Fair Isle: 8 names listed for WW1, recorded by me as RNR: 3 all surname Eunson and 1 surname Stout.
Canadians: 2 named McLean
George Stout, RAMC and Jerome Wilson, HLI.
Papa Stour: a plate in the island church: Douglas, William and Bruce Fraser. John Scott, Thomas Sinclair and Magnus Jamieson. |
