|
|
In the Dundee and Angus Courier for Saturday 18th the weekend supplement was dedicated to the history of HMS Ambrose, the submarine base in the City of Dundee during WW2.
A memorial will be erected in September between Victoria and Camperdown docks. It will commemorate the five Dundee based submarines that were lost and the 224 sailors, 15 Norwegian and British Commando's.
The memorial is being funded between Dundee City council and developer Unicorn Property Group. Interestingly the article states that HMS Ambrose is the only Royal Navy submarine base without a memorial.
If anybody wants a scan of the detailed article PM me.
Cheers,
Derek. |
