On 'Da West Side', this memorial is situated by the sea wall, between the two churches. Incidentally, the place is pronounced 'Waas'.

I was staggered at how many Merchant Seaman are listed on the Second World War panel. 14 out 15 men!

There are quite a few entries here where the sailor isn't on both CWGC and SNWN databases but they can all be found on at least one of them.
