Location is the Isle of Whithorn church beside the beach/harbour at OS Map Ref NX 478 364. The memorial appears to have suffered some water damage in the past and this was probably from the sea air. The roll is in the entrance to the church which is actually built on the beach.
The two memorials in this church share the honour of being the southernmost war memorials in Scotland. The names of those who died are the same as on the Isle of Whithorn civic memorial and that contains ranks and regiments etc.
