The Western Club, 32 Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow G1 3AB
UKNIWM: Not Listed
OS Grid Ref: NS 591653
Founded in 1825, the Club has maintained the first class standards of service, comfort and individual charm which have drawn loyal membership from businessmen and women throughout the years.
From its founding in 1825, the Club joined with the Junior Club (founded in 1868), the New Club (founded in 1869) and the ladies Kelvin Club (founded in 1897). In more recent times the Club has also become the adopted home of former members of the R.N.V.R. Club (Scotland).
History also records that the purpose of the Club was to furnish its members with cheap and well cooked dinners and "wine free of death in the bottle".
