Location in the Glasserton Church at OS Map Ref NX 422 381.
James Johnston Stewart Captain Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
born April 1st 1871
Killed in action at Cumburru, Somaliland April 17th 1903
when serving in 2nd Batt Kings African Rifles
he served his country in the North West Frontier of India campaign 184?
In the Ashanti campaign 1900, and in the South African war 1901-2
was four times mentioned in despatches and received medals with clasps
