Hi,
Can anybody help with the following request?
I have identified the below man commemorated on the Dunfermline WW1 Memorial:
Andrew Watson
Born 1891 in Dunfermline
Father James - Mother Helen
Died 12th Feb 1918 while serving as 3rd Engineer Officer on HMHS Neuralia at Durban in South Africa - aged 27
I can find no CWGC or SNWM record for this man. Can anybody confirm that he normally should be commemorated or are men serving on HMHS excluded?
Rgds,

Was he perhaps Merchant Navy?
If he was, and his death was not the result of enemy action, then he won't be commemorated by CWGC. |

Hi David,
I only have newspaper articles as a reference. According to the Dunfermline Journal he was serving with the Royal Navy.
I am trying to find evidence of any service records.
