I'm mostly working in Aberdeen now so thought I'd update Anne Park's posting in the general section here. This is a fantastic tribute to the Gordons, and that's saying something coming from a Black Watch man! The figures are stunning - standing lad I guess from Peninsular/Crimean period and his kneeling mucker from 70s/early 80s Ireland or similar from SLR and 58-pattern kidney pouches. Old regimental numbers (92nd and 75th) recorded nicely. Signed by sculptor 'Mark Richards 2011'. And is the first war memorial to have an 'app' thingie?

Great pics!

Yeah it must be one of the first memorials in the UK, if not the very first to have a "Q.R. code" built in to it.
If you have a smartphone then when scanned it simply takes you to the following site, a it says http://www.bydand.eu/site/

Derek.

I like the new photos and if anyone needs info on a WWI mannie I'm happy to do lookups from my database I've 5,050 with Kincardineshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire or Morayshire connections.
I've done Orkney and Shetland mannies too....
If you have someone who fits and you have already found him included on the site and you have more details I'll happily update the info.
Anne
