I have just came across a list of all former pupils of Camlachie Primary School who served in the Great War...sadly the school is long gone and no one knows where the War Memorial went to.
Dan there is at least three MacRae's listed on it...did you have any relatives with the name Murdo

The Roll of Honour is located in the City of Glasgow Archives, Mitchell Library, and many thanks to Irene O'Brien for finding it and allowing me to photograph it.

Great find John.
I was struck by the name Nyguist - Alex. Scottish Rifles and Earnest (sic) RAMC. There's quite a lot about the family (Nyquist or Nyguist) on various geneology sites. The father was a glass blower and came from Sweden to, initialy Leith where Ernest was born, then Camlachie.
The brothers survived the war but a nephew died in WW2.
