Brass rectangular tablet. Keil School crest at top left.

Keil School was an independent secondary school with boarding and day pupils for around 200 pupils. It was an all-boys school up until 1978, when it became co-educational. Keil School closed in July 2000.

The inscription only makes sense if there are names from both the Great and Second World Wars. Possibly those from the LH and RH Columns are from the Great War and JOHN WEBSTER is from the Second World War.

Alex - from a couple of names at random, Claude Bentley Lt. RN(21/6/1942) and James Mouat Sgt. Pilot RAF (6/6/1942), it would seem that this is a WW2 memorial.

Laindon Corwell is, I think, this man

From what I can find out the school did not exist under this name and on the Dumbarton site until 1925 - so almost certainly a WW2 memorial.

I have seen the Second World War described in this way on other memoriials as The Great War 1939-1945. It isn't common but I don't know when WW2/Second World War became common terms.
