Mark

Excellent photos. Thanks for posting them. I notice they've included an image of the Croix de Guerre won by the 6th Black Watch in France 1918.

12 British Army units were awarded the Croix de Guerre during the First World War. The only other Scottish unit to be awarded one was the 12th Argylls who won theirs in Salonika.

I belive later TA units decended from 6th BW and based in Perth still wore a distinction on their uniforms to perpetuate this award.

I don't know if current Perth TA units still do?

Regards

Adam
