Torthorwald Parish Church is at OS Map Ref: NY 036 782
The names on this memorial (both WW1 and WW2) are exactly the same as on the Collin and Torthorwald civic memorial.

My initial reaction was - what a very plain, undistinguished church. However I think the memorial plaques are lovely. I like the 'blue marble' background and the brass plates are nicely designed/executed. |

I agree with you about the church - I was in it just today and I still cannot work out which is the main door. It is even more stark inside and this is the only memorial. One thing I did notice is that James Bryden's name is in correct sequence whereas it is an addition on the Collin/Torthorwald civic memorial, probably indicating that the church memorial came later.
