Apologies. I was allowing Pat the courtesy of adding a wee narrative to his pic. It is in St. Mary's & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Montrose.

This family erected memorial is located in St Mary's & St Peter's Scottish Episcopal Church in Montrose. The church is open to the public . A friend of ours is a cousin of Lt Alexander Renny- Tailyour , Black Watch and she visited his grave in the very recent years !

He is also listed on the Hillside War Memorial

The thread mentions this memorial.

Tucked away under a stained glass window at the back of the church is this plaque.

I can't find Col Renny-Tailyour on CWGC or SNWM but if, as is suggested, he was lost at sea through enemy action in 1943 then members of the Renny-Tailyour family died in WW1, WW2 and Korea.

Just saw this post, Ralphy read it again, she was married to a Mr Porteous, so is on CWGC under that surname. Not listed on SNWM.

PORTEOUS, ROSALIND LILIAN
Rank: Civilian
Date of Death: 30/04/1943
Age: 52
Regiment/Service: Civilian War Dead
Reporting Authority: S.S. PORT VICTOR
Additional Information: Daughter of the late Col. H. W. Renny-Tailyour and E. R. Renny-Tailyour, of Newmanswalls, Montrose, Angus; wife of Cecil Porteous, of La Maria Luisa, Bonifacio, Argentina.

Do you, or a mod, want to put this in a thread of its own under individual memorials please?

Interestingly she isn't on the Montrose or Hillside memorials.
