Hello !
Though I live in France, I'm originally from the village of Plean in Stirlingshire and have been researching the men (and one woman) whose names are inscribed on the war memorial in that village.
Near where I live, in a place called Sennecey le Grand, there is also a big SAS memorial - don't know if there are any British names on it but if anyone's interested I can go and have a look?

From the Special Air Service Regimental Association site at
http://www.marsandminerva.co.uk/battle_of_sennecey.htm

"The memorial at Sennecey le Grand was inaugurated on 4 September 1984 to honour all Officers and Men from the Special Air Service Regiment who gave their lives for freedom. The inauguration was attended by a large contingent from all three countries involved and included David Stirling himself. The memorial includes the names of all SAS casualties of the 1st and 2nd SAS (British), 3rd and 4th SAS (French) and 5th SAS (Belgian)."

Welcome to the forum Tanyagar. There are bound to be Scots listed and I would love to see a photograph.

Can't imagine why you would leave Plean for France - actually, yes I can Rolling Eyes

Ok. I'll beetle up there sometime this week if the weather decides to behave itself. Sunshine's better for photos and today it's been pouring rain! It's only a couple of miles away from where I live.

Ok, got the photos. Where do I put them? Not here, I imagine...
In fact, more than half of the names are British and there must be some Scots, with names like MacKay and MacLeod among them!
I did read the instructions on posting photos, but not sure I'll manage Rolling Eyes

I did see that and tried to follow the instructions, but must have done something wrong! Can't think what, because it's clear enough...
