This memorial is on a bench located in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh.

I've had a brief look but couldn't find an Alfred Ernest Savage in the Royal Scots. I'm sure someone better at searching will be able to locate something about him.

This is may no more than an possibility but an Albert Ernest Savage died in 1966 aged 88 in the George Square District of Edinburgh.
