This is one of 13 representative colours replaced in St Giles following the refurbishment of the 1990s. It has been identified as being a Regimental Colour of the 9th Bn Royal Scots. It is identified as C5 in the list on the previous thread and is probably linked with C4 which is posted separately until the link can be confirmed.
I have not been able to link this colour with any of the plaques on the previous post.
Prior to WW1, battle honours were listed only on the Regimental Colour but, because of the large number of honours awarded in WW1, a representative number of these honours were added to King's Colours, therefore this colour post-dates WW1.
