"TROON MEN IN THE FIGHTING
MISSING AND WOUNDED

Pte John Taylor, 5th R.S.F., killed, whose wife resides at Burn Street, Bonhill, was 24 years of age and a native of Campbeltown. He was employed at Troon"

The 1901 Scottish census shows John living with his parents and siblings at Crossleggie, Southend Road, Campbeltown.

The record of soldiers died in the Great War shows John enlisted in Troon.

The register of soldiers effects shows the War Gratuity was paid to John's widow Agnes. John and Agnes were married on 29 January 1915 at 14 Burn Street, Bonhill, Dumbarton. John was in the army and his usual address was Cambusbarron, Stirling

John is also on the Troon Memorial
