Kirkfieldbank is situated on the banks of the River Clyde, just a short drive from the town of Lanark.

This memorial seems very well looked after.

The Clyde Valleys always worth a visit in the Spring and this memorial looks particularly well as its backed by a grove of cherry trees, the blossom provides a beautiful backdrop. When I was taking these pics a local told me that the sculpture was supposed to be of one of the local men listed on the memorial who was a well known footballer. Unfortunately he didn't know which name it was.
Memorial was unveiled on Saturday 21st October 1922 by Lieutenant Colonel C.J. Edmonstoune Cranstoun and a photo of the ceremony was published in The Glasgow Bulletin on Monday 23rd October.
