Port Bannatyne (North Bute) - Island of Bute
Does not appear to be registered on UKNIM

The Port Bannatyne war memorial is a a grey granite celtic cross with wheel-head and bosses, and a celtic knotwork patter carved in relief on the face and upper shaft. The cross is set on a tapering cairn constructed of local stone including many white quartz stones. The commemoration and names of the dead are listed in black lead lettering on the face of the shaft and on tablets set into the facees of the pedestal. There is also a memorial to the men of the 12th Midget Submarine Flotilla of WWII who trained in the area at the rear of the monument (listed seperately).
The monument stands on the main road junction at the Southern edge of the village.
