Ken,

Thanks for unearthing John Doloughan Tyson who I have now entered on the Whitehaven Roll of Honour.

We were previously unaware of him due to the whole family having moved away.

At some time since 2020 some smart new metal edging has been added around the base of the memorial. I got photographs while I was there today which are to be posted on https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/136420/

Also there is a smart new Annan History website- from that (https://www.annanthehistorytown.org/wartime-annan/war-memorial ) I note the following-

The bronze sculpture of the soldier was by Henry Price, who also sculpted the war memorial in Maxwelltown, Dumfries. The rest of the work, including the Creetown granite pedestal, was carried out by Orlando Rae of James Rae and Sons, Annan, whose great nephew Peter Rae maintains the monument to this day.
