John Morrin Fisher, Private (200398) 7th Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. Age 29.
Born 1887 at Hoddom, Dumfriesshire. (as John Morrin) Son of Robert and Jane (Morrin) Fisher of The Masonic Arms, Crossmichael. Husband of Edith Valentine (Davis) Fisher of Cheam, Surrey. Enlisted in September 1914 and served at Neuve Chapelle, Festubert, Loos and Ypres.
Died of wounds 14 April 1917and buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun, France.

Thank you, I live in Liverpool but my granny still lives in Kirkcudbright, she has seen a pic from a newspaper years ago of her 4 uncles but hasent seen it since and she would love to see a pic of her granny x

A commemorative bench was installed at the memorial, just in time for remembrance 2018. Note that the plaque dedicates the bench to all who served and not just those who died.

The seat is by David Ogilvie Engineering. There are other examples of this stock type of seat as far away as Kinlochleven and Maryport (Cumbria).
The images of the seat are now added to the WMR record, with the locational view now being the 'Headline' image
