Younger son of Joseph Fox Tarratt, of Ellary, Ardrishaig, Argyll, and of Mary Georgiana Helen McNeill, his wife. Laird of Ellary, Ardrishaig, and the Isle of Coll, Argyll. His elder brother also fell.
