This is a plain, framed Roll of Honour for Murthly. I have taken closer shots, of a fashion, but, again, it is that small spidery writing we have seen on occasion & it is behind glass....

The title at the top says Petrthshire's Roll of Honour and a space for the Parish which I take it means every Parish or Parish Church in Perthshire got one. Do you think this was used to collect the information for the Golden Book in Perth? Adam

Adam,

From what I can see the Golden Book has been compiled from THE completed parish memorials. These would be either the civic monument or the collective memorial within the parish church.

I'm not sure how Perth City went about compiling their list. I think it must have been an appeal for names together with a trawl through the local newspapers.
