I was passing through Edinburgh airport at the weekend and happened upon a statue and plaque to Eric "Winkle" Brown in the area between the tram stop and airport buildings. Didn't have a camera and my mobile is pre-photographic technology.

Article in the Edinburgh News from last year refers: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/our-region/edinburgh/statue-of-hero-pilot-eric-winkle-brown-unveiled-at-edinburgh-airport-1-4763059

He was on "Desert Island Discs" a couple of years back and was first class.
The podcast should still be available.

When first unveiled this was in a pretty good spot next to the East exit of the airport as there was a lot of footfall there. Just a few months later the airport layout changed slightly so it's not in a great spot as the main entrance / exit is back in the centre of the buildings and only those using the tram will see it. Many will miss it. I doubt there is much appetite to move it so soon after its unveiling.

I have only been to the airport late at night or early morning recently so I've not had an opportunity to photograph it.
