Temple-Anniesland Church, 869 Crow Road, Glasgow, G13 1LE.

It is a red sandstone Gothic-style church built by Badenoch & Bruce in 1905. The adjoining hall was the original United Presbyterian church built in 1899 by Alexander Petrie. The church has a U-plan interior with red pine panelled gallery and pews.
Many thanks to Mrs. Isabel Barrie, President of the Women’s Guild, for allowing me access to the church.

The war memorial is from Temple Parish Church (now demolished) which united with Anniesland Cross Church in 1984.

The centre panel is inscribed as follows:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN THE MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THIS

KING AND COUNTRY 1914 – 1918

Along the base of the memorial is written

I wanted to take an opportunity to add something to this thread.

For a start, thank you taking the photos of the memorial and posting them where they can be seen.

It is nice to see that their sacrifices are not forgotten.

One of the men mentioned above was my Great Uncle, and I wanted to add a face to the name for this.
