Name: MOORE, JOHN CLARK

Regiment/Service: King's Own Scottish Borderers, 4th Bn
Date of Death: 19/4/1917
Age: 21
Additional Information: Son of Mr. and Mrs. Moore, of 13, Leamington Terrace, Edinburgh. Enlisted Sept., 1914 in 19th Bn. Royal Scots. Wounded in France, April. 1915.
Panel Reference: Panels 22 and 23
Memorial: Jerusalem Memorial.

Also named on Douglas Primary School Memorial.

Addendum: Ken Morrison has provided a little extra information, first of all pointing out that CWGC made an error in transcription of John Moore's original battalion: i.e. it was the 1/9th Bn of the Royal Scots, not the 19th, and his service number was 2447. The London Gazette (15/8/1916 page 8117) notified his appointment as 2nd Lieutenant on 5/8/1916. Thanks Ken.
