Here is his another memorial to him on the family headstone in Dean (Western) Cemetery, Edinburgh

And a close up of the plaque that looks out of place.




Given Capt Salvesen doesn't have a plaque in St Giles I wonder if this red plaque was originally erected in India in the garrison church of the 82nd Punjabis and moved to Edinburgh Post-1947?

Unfortunately the CWGC was down when I posted this and Lt Salvesen doesn't appear on the SNWM database although another two Salveson officers do appear, one killed at Gretna in 1915.

The Salvesen brothers are also named on Cargilfield Prep School War Memorial.
