Can anyone help me with the service details for ALEXANDER CHRISTIE who is named on the Ormiston War Memorial in East Lothian.

He was a coal miner who died of TB on 18 August 1923 at Clark Buildings in Ormiston and there are Pension records on Ancestry naming his mother Mary Jane Christie under the number 2865761 (not his service number) and that he served in the Gordon Highlanders.

He is of course not listed on the CWGC Register.

Help please!
