There is also a civic memorial, the plaque of which is in Applegarth church.
This memorial consists of a pair of windows in Applegarth church which is only used for worship on a limited number of days. The windows were refurbished in about 1996.
Thanks to Harry Smith for providing access to the church.

I was once told that the windows within Applegarth Church has a special meaning with regards to the war. Each stain glass plate has a special significance with regiment badges and something to do with a cannon
I'm sure Harry Smith may be able to tell you more. |
