The 72nd Highlanders and 92nd Highlanders both served in this campaign.
Landi Khotal was on the Indian side of the Khyber Pass and a strategic place for any British Invasion of Afghanistan (pre 1947).
I take it there was some sort of large base and hospital so I imagine this memorial would cover some Scotsmen from that war.
