With the recent concerns about a memorial, currently part demolished, in Blairgowrie, it set me thinking about other lost memorials. UKNIWM usually puts (LOST) at the end of the memorial name. You can search for 'lost' in the name field but unfortunately this will bring up a lot of others as well, 'lost at sea' for example, but worth a browse when you have a few minutes free.
One that caught my eye was a memorial in Newtonards, Co Down (I know that's out of area) but it was made of Snow! Who would have thought that would have been listed. (UKNIWM 45584) complete with an explanation of why it was listed.
